Map Inspect mode
The Map Inspect mode allows you to view and inspect the data behind the map layers. This view is convenient, if you want to apply data-driven styling in the Layers.
Switching map modes
To enable the Map Inspect mode:
- Open a style in Map Maker.
- Click the
Map mode icon in the top menu.
- Choose Inspect from the dropdown menu.
To go back to the default view, click the Map mode icon and choose Map from the dropdown menu.
Viewing all map data
By default, the Map Inspect mode shows data used by all layers in the style.
Inspecting a single layer
To view the properties of a specific layer:
- Go to the Layers tab.
- Select the layer you want to inspect.
The Map Inspect mode will now display data only for the selected layer, allowing you to focus on its specific properties.
Map data availability
Some data is available only at certain zoom levels. For example, motorway data is available from zoom level 5 and POI data from zoom level 9. If you don’t see data for a specific layer, try zooming in or out to see if the data appears.
